Getting here

Coming from Falun, head in the direction of Hedemora. When you see the sign- Vika – on the right, begin to pay attention. Continue straight on towards Hedemora. After a couple of kilometres you will see signs for Lunån 6, and Nyhyttan 3. There you turn left. Follow the road until it ends. Then you have arrived in Lunån.

Coming from Borlänge, head in the direction of Torsång. After the café and bridge at Torsång, where Lake Runn joins the Dala River, take a left towards Vika. You will pass through some small villages and then take a right towards Rankhyttan, before Vika. Wind your way through Folkarbyn, where you take to the right, Sunnanhaga and Rankhyttan, and continue towards Strand. At Strand, there is a T-junction, where you take right. Continue until you come to the main road (between Falun and Hedemora) and cross straight over the road. After a short while you will see Hagelsnäs Herrgård on the right hand side. Directly opposite that you turn left towards Lunån. You are now on a small forest road and will pass through Kalvsbäcken. Up the hill and to the right, you will see a sign for Lunån. You are almost there. Continue until the road ends.

Coming from Hedemora, head in the direction of Falun. Take a right when you see the sign for Hagelsnäs. Directly opposite Hagelsnäs Herrgård turn left towards Lunån. You are now on a small forest road and will pass through Kalvsbäcken. Up the hill and to the right, you will see a sign for Lunån. You are almost there. Continue until the road ends.

Coming from Säter, head in the direction of Bispberg. After Bispberg you will pass through Bispbergshyttan towards Stora Skedvi. At Stora Skedvi take a right at the petrol station, and then immediately left. When you come to the main road between Falun and Hedemora, turn left towards Falun. After a few kilometres turn off to the right towards Hagelsnäs. Then turn left towards Lunån directly opposite Hagelsnäs Herrgård. You are now on a small forest road and you will pass through Kalvsbäcken. Up the hill and to the right, you will see a sign for Lunån. You are almost there. Continue until the road ends. Then you have arrived in Lunån.

Coming from Gävle, Sandviken or Hofors, head in the direction of Falun. After about 15 kilometres, on the forest road, turn left towards Lövåsen. Now you are on a deserted gravel road which seems to go on and on. It feels long, but suddenly you arrive in Nyberget. Continue right through until you come to a take-off to the right in Lövåsen. There you turn right towards Strand. Now the road winds on, and the next sign to keep a look-out for is Lunån. This comes opposite Hagelsnäs Herrgård. Take a right there, more forest, then a small village – Kalvsbäcken – up the steep hill and to the right again. There is a sign with Lunån . Now you are almost there. One kilometre further and straight across the turning-place. There is a sign with ”Här slutar allmän väg”, and so straight down the hill towards the dairy. Phew – finally there!

To choose the easiest route, it is best to take the main road (Gävle-Falun). But if you prefer a more roundabout way you can go via Stjärnsund. After that towards Långshyttan. When you come to Långshyttan you keep to the left. Fairly soon you will reach the take-off for Arkhyttan, to the left. The next sign is also for Arkhyttan and there you turn right. In Arkhyttan turn right towards Lövåsen. Then left to Strand. Opposite Hagelsnäs Herrgård turn right to Lunån. Then you just follow the Lunån signs. Not far now to go.
