The alpacas
Esia and Emil are two alpaca stallions. Emil is grey and born in 2011. Esia is brown and born in 2012.
The alpaca is of the camel family from the Andes and related to the llama. But the alpaca is smaller and milder in temperament and has much finer wool.
Esia and Emil can spit at each other, or at other animals, when they fight. It is not a usual spit (saliva), but a mixture of stomach acid and grass. It smells awful. But they have never spat at people.
